For me, and I almost thought about posting this on my site - the whole tragedy brought up a lot of questions I wanted to ask the super-religious families of the miners.

1. You mention that 12 of 13 miners having been found alive is proof that miracles exist. What say you now about miracles now that they're not alive? Do they not exist, or did God not feel the need to deliver one to you this time?

2. If humans can easily make mistakes in labeling something as a miracle, as is obviously the case here, does that mean we should be weary any time a human being plays the "miracle card?"

3. Does the amount of prayer affect the arrival of a miracle? If so, why did an entire nation praying in unison for these miners fail, while a high school football team in Texas had God answer their prayers in the form of an overtime win over their cross town rival?

Then I thought to myself, "Fuck it. Fundamentally religious people constantly explain everything as the will of God, therefore nothing could ever possibly be wrong, or not 'supposed' to have happened."

Then I made a ham sandwich and watched some Daily Show.Jeremyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06622852855803329007noreply@blogger.com
